So where have we been eh? We've been busy, that's where. We just wrote and recorded three songs in the last two week after we got back from Vegas. Jason and Jarrett are both really good producers if you kids were unaware of that. Jarrett actually recorded the "Tear Us Apart Acoustic" song on our myspace. Other than writing and rehearsing, we've been doing some waiting. We are going to have some sort of news for you on June 8th involving the record. As soon as we know we will tell you. We are super anxious to get it recorded and out there for everyone to hear. We've recorded around 30 demos now and it's driving us nuts not to be able to share these songs with you. Fortunately, we can play them live for you. So if we are playing in your area, come out and say hi to us. Sometimes we lose track as to why we are playing music, but talking to you guys really reminds us why we love doing this so much. We hope all is well in your lives. See you soon.

Wowzers

So last night was incredible. Everyone who came out to see us made the show amazing for us and we are all super pumped this morning. I'm so pumped in fact that I'm the only one awake because I don't know how to sleep. But yes yes, I'm sure you all saw the show, but I got a few stories about after the show.

As is the usual, we enjoyed a few beverages at the bar and shared some conversation with friends and dans and the such. Now Greg and Jarrett were having a particularly large amount of fun last evening and if you don't know Greg and Jarrett, they are quite the smooth talkers. So long story short: Ali and Aj of Disney fame (Google it) showed up and were standing infront of our merch table. I told Greg and about ten minutes later when we were all packed up I found my two buddies trying their hardest to pursuade the ladies to come hang out with us sometime. After standing behind them and watching them fail miserably, it was my utmost pleasure to grab them by the collars and tell them it's time to give up. So I dragged them back to the van, got a dirty phone call from a girl who's number I didn't give, and it was off.

LA Del Taco's suck. We walked up to the drive-thru because you can't drive a giant ass trailer through. We got denied pretty hard. So we drove back to home sweet home and found our Del Taco at 2 in the morning more than happy to serve us. God bless you Chapman Del Taco, you will never know the great deed you have done for 6 starving young men.

I'm sure there were many more things floating around to be said, but for now, it's all my little brain can remember. Take care and thanks again to everyone who made it and to everyone who couldnt, well, it was sold out. I'm sure you wanted to be there though!

Back in action
Feb 13th 2007
So here I am again. I feel like I have neglected this blog a little over the past couple of months and focused on our myspace maybe too much. I'm going to take over this blog as mostly my own from now on. Let's dive in.

We have been working on writing new material lately. We've writeen about 20 songs since october and we are continuing the write still. This new song we wrote this week is probably one of our best and I'm really excited about it. We probably wont be playing it for a month or so, but hot damn when we do, be ready.

Us Narwhals are also on the lookout for a new keys player. We have some pretty talented guys trying out right now. We'll let you know as soon as we have a new one. I'm sure they will kick ass and such.

Things are going really well right now. I think something is finally going to happen in this next month. Stay tuned and I'll let you know when it finally does.

Take care,
and go love someone tomorrow.

Dane

I changed the password. I'm frickin evil like that. I'm gonna cover is front yard in swag too. So it's been a while since we posted a blog here. But if you need to know what's going on, I can tell you. We are currently working on writing new songs for a full length record. We are going to be playing a couple of these songs on a few of our shows that we will be playing. We are not planning on any full tours right now because we need to write, but we will be doing shows here and there along the coast in hopefully in Vegas and Arizona. Keep an eye out for us. I'm sure we will be updating you. Also we got a sweet new shirt on the way that's pretty funny. If you got any questions just hit us up on the myspace and we will get back to you ASAP. Other than that, stay fresh and go pick up The Outline's new record.

We lose stuff 06/Summer of Love 06/ Warped Tour 06
Jul 6th 2006
Wowzers. So here it is. Our first Warped Tour blog. We are currently sitting at our friends house in San Diego fresh from a deep sea dip writing to you. It's been a crazy last couple of days. I've been thinking about what I was going to write to you guys for the last 3 days. And now I'm drawing a blank. But here I go.

Warped tour is awesome. We played in New Mexico and it was sweet. But giving free stuff out is even more sweet. If you happen to catch us on the tour, come to us. Get free stuff. The lovely staff of El Pinto Salsa have hooked us up with some sweet swag and we have free CD's. But yeah, giving free stuff out is the best thing on Earth. Note: If by chance you see one of our giant beach balls floating towards the front of the stage, be sure not to let it make it to the security guards. They have knives and use them. Make sure the balls live strong and such. Other than that, we love all of you who have come by and talked to us.

Next on the list, we are losing tons of crap. Danny lost his laptop but knows where it is, he almost lost his sandals, Rick lost his cellphone (rookie move), Dane lost his soul (long time coming) Greggles our vicious roaddog lost something, I forget, Jarrett lost his whatever, and Forrest lost his sleeves to all his shirts. So we are all in need of something currently in the band-o. Sunscreen is on the top of the list.

Things have been great so far though. We are going to be on the rest of Warped Tour up to Portland so if you are there come find our booth and get free stuff and hang out. We love you dearly. One day you will understand.

Love,
The Men of Narwhal (But mostly Dane)

PS- I promise these things will get better. We have videos and pics on the way. And better grammar. Pinky Swear.

Forrest thinks we are running out of time...
Jun 25th 2006
So here is what's going on in our world. We are heading to Vegas this week for 5 days to record the song Drug Driven for the movie Feast which is coming out in September. We are pretty excited to get back into the studio with Pat Thrall and record this song for you guys so be ready. We are also finishing up a song called "Wash Me Away" and Rick is going to be adding his new keyboard parts to it. This song is pretty epic and I know you are all going to love it. Hopefully we can show it to you sometime in the near future. We will for sure get Drug Driven up for you to listen as soon as we can. So yeah, after Vegas we get a day to rehearse then we are hitting the road for New Mexico to join up with the Warped tour up until they hit Canada. Hopefully we can see some of you guys out there. Come talk to us and get a bunch of free stuff. We got El Pinto Salsa to endorse a lot of our swag. I'm not going to lie either, being sponsored by salsa kicks ass. We are also getting a bunch of bottles made with our faces on them. Maybe we will give a few away if you're lucky and we want to share. So I won't bore you guys anymore. Just know we are super duper busy and that we love you dearly. Really, we do.

Love,
The Men of Narwhal (but mostly Dane)

Our first tour is fin
Jun 8th 2006
Thank you to everyone who came out early to the shows and saw us Narwhal boys. The fans, new and old, have been amazing on this tour. We were blown away by all the support. All the bands we went out with too were the tits. Make sure you check out The Sleeping, Bayside, and Halifax. They are all super cool dudes and our new friends. And as for us, we are currently hiding away in a valley outside of SF with our friend Megan. We are going to be running around town looking for junk to bring home with us for the next couple of days. Then we gotsa show on Sunday with INXS. I'm not quite sure if anyone knows this, but since I was like 15 INXS has been my most favoritest band of all time. I am getting an INXS tatoo in less than a year. My dream has come true and I can die a happy man after we play with them. So thanks again to all the fans and bands that made the last 7 days fantastical. Hall and Oates said it best when they said "You make my dreams come true." Cause you do.

Sincerely, Appropriately, and most Importantly,
Dane

Never been so happy
Jun 5th 2006
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo what's up everyone? This is Dane writing to tell you that I love you. We have been on this mini tour for 3 nights now and its been the best thing on Earth. All the shows have been awesome and the crowd has kicked more ass than I've ever seen at any show really. I can't beleive everyone is clapping for the opener. So yeah, here is what has been going on while no one has been looking. I am secretly in love with Baysides merch girl whom I send messages to by writing them upside down on my left hand so only she can read them. She is unaware of this as of now. Dave from Hit the Lights kicks ass, but I lost a bet to the rest of their band and I had to pay for their Chipotle burritos. Damn them. Then there is the Sleeping. It's embarassing how good they are. It's Doug's birthday today so go over to their myspace and tell him what's up. And last but not least Bayside is freaking amazing on stage night after night. What else do you need to know? Comment, and I shall tell you the secrets of the road warriors known as Narwhal.

Love Always,
The Men of Narwhal

The Squeegee Curse
May 20th 2006
Arg. So we are back from a short trip to San Francisco. But what's more important is what happened during said trip. On the way up we couldn't find a squeegee. At all the gas stations we stopped at they either didn't have one or they were so bad they made our windows worse. Then on the way back, our wiper blades sucked at life while it rained down on us. This squeegee curse will hopefully be a one-time thing, because our windows deserve to be clean. But yeah, what a trip. Bottom of the Hill is an awesome venue and all the bands we played with were great. Super nice fun dudes. All of them. Go check them out of you get a chance: Push to Talk, The Audrie Sessions, and of course Dear Kerosene. So after the show we decided to drive all the way back home. Stupid, I know. But that quickly changed when we got stranded on the Bay Bridge due to construction. Everyone was completely stopped. Steve had to walk around and wake people up in their cars that passed out. Then he danced for them. This went on for about 3 hours. Other people began to dance. Then we crashed at our friends Ashley and Liz's house. Mucho thanks to them for letting us stay there. I mean, my dad owns NASA so we could have just flown home, but it was a nice gesture. K, we are going to have some very big things going on in the month of June so take a look at our shows and keep up with the news because I will be posting something Monday. I love you. Too much.
